THE GAME
--------
The 'Others' have cast you down into the labyrinthine realm of your mind.
In a series of ever expanding mazes you will encounter monsters, traps,
puzzles and beautiful treasures.
Finding your way out with the highest score is your only task.
Of course death or simply running out of time, is the easy way out, but
with the lowest score...
Existing in this place, you are given a certain amount of ammunition to
fight against the creatures. These are star-shot weapons and bombs.
You are given the full amount of shots to start with, but you will have to
collect the bombs on your travels.
The four vertical bars on the right display are:
Health / Time / Ammunition / Bombs
Your health will decrease when you have been bitten, burnt, electrified,
shot, or generally blown up!
Shooting the bouncing 'Spirit' balls increases your energy. Note that you
have to turn sideways to hit these.
Each level has a time limit. If you run out of time you will fail.
CONTROLS
--------
"Z"/"X" - Rotate left or right ninety degrees.
"SPACE" - Move forward one square.
"RETURN" - Fire shots. Unless you have just taken the rapid fire potion
you can only shoot one at a time. Note that you can hold down
the key for continuous fire.
"Ctrl" - Drop bomb. You must move at least one square away before it
explodes, or you will burn!
If you have a joystick, pull back and fire at the same time to drop a bomb.
"ESCAPE" - Abort game.
"Q" - Toggle sound off and on.
"S" - Toggle internal speaker off and on (for using headphones.)
"P" - Pause/resume.
On title screen...
"SPACE" - Starts game from the beginning.
"ESCAPE" - KILL GAME CODE, RETURN TO DESKTOP.
HINTS
-----
* On the later levels you are advised to make a map and take note of the
correct route.
* All spaces are used on the levels. If there is an area you cannot reach
then is probably a shootable wall as a secret entrance.
* To shoot the Spirit Balls, it is easier to fire against a wall rather than
trying to hit them directly. This is because an exploding shot has a
'wider kill spread!'
* To run and turn without delay KEEP space pressed and hold the rotate key
down just BEFORE reaching corner.
* When you hit a trap move as quickly as you can, because if you're stuck
in one then you have no alternative but to end the game or wait to die...
* Sometimes you have to sacrifice in order to gain...
* Pressing 'SPACE' or 'RETURN' can zip you through the text between levels.
